Mindset While Watching a Movie
Movie night; the much anticipated film is about to come on. What are your expectations? Do you think it will be good? Bad? Or maybe you don't want to think about it, and you just want to watch the movie.
Your mindset while watching a movie greatly determines how much you like that movie. If you are constantly judging the movie, analyzing it, criticizing it, and other "ings" it, you will not enjoy the movie as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Movies are movies. Unless you're trying to take the movie apart and analyze the scenes step by step, you should just watch a movie to enjoy it.
Part of the fun in watching a movie is getting drawn into that world. If you keep reminding yourself that this is a movie, that you're watching a movie, and you try to break down plot/scenes of the movie, you won't watch the movie as what it is meant to be; quite simply, entertainment.
So, I would suggest that you watch a movie for what it is: a movie. All it is, is entertainment.
But wait... what if the movie's not for entertainment? What if it's one of those mystery weird movies that makes you wonder if reality really exists? What if the movie's not meant to be enjoyed as entertainment? Then that movie will do it's own job, besides entertaining you. It will make you question reality or whatever else it's talking about. It doesn't have to be an entertainment issue while watching a movie.
So just watch the movie for whatever it is, usually that being entertainment. The "entertainment" can be whatever the movie is trying to do to you, that being entertain you, make you form questions in your mind, make you think about something in life, or make you have a different view on something.
That's all I can think of right now, and this is a conclusion statement.
...Yeah.
I'll be blogging later...
Good morning... and in case i dont see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.
...the end.

I concur.
The main reason I watch movies is to be entertained. However, I think movie entertainment is usually a waste of my time. So I try not to spend my time watching pointless movies that I don't get anything out of.
And yes, I did just end that sentence in a preposition. (A preposition is a word that you should not end a sentence with)
:)
But in some movies, there is more than just entertainment.
Take star wars for example, (i am refrencing the original trilogy here), on top of being entertained, you are introduced to a whole new world, with interesting characters and a deep story. So there's more to the movie than just entertainment.
Sometimes movies also have much more substance than the movie itself. For example, star wars again. There so much more to the star wars universe than just the movies portray.
...So... you can get more out of movies than entertainment, in my opinion.
